“ Something kind of sad about,
The way that things have come to be
Desensitized to everything,
What became of subtlety?

Tool_ Lateralus (2001)

The majority of the record is about re-communication, about understanding where you are in reference to where you’ve been and where you’re going. It’s the process of letting go of old baggage and the evaluation of your place.

I’m posting an hour earlier, who cares. So here’s a little continuation of the live dvd. It’s the three songs that weren’t in the main video because they weren’t played during the Reno, NV concert on March 9, 2014 (which is the processed audio track for the dvd). This will immediately sound different, because it’s not an IEM recording like the main live dvd, but an audience recording of the 2 San Francisco shows (March 11 and March 12, 2014), but it still sounds really good. Hooker With A Penis and Sober are from Day 2 while Opiate’s new version is from Day 1. Not much to say about the audio processing other than that I used the same tools that I did with the main dvd. There’s a lot of San Francisco footage available, so what you’re seeing is 90% SF video mixed in with the occasional shots from other concerts of the 2014 tour to make it lively. Opiate’s new additions sound ridiculously beautiful. Danny Carey has said that the “new” parts we heard during this tour are actual new song parts, so my guess is that the new song before Schism and Opiate’s new middle section were previews.
